Oh So Basic, Oh So Simple But Oh So Easy!

Well, I guess an apology is due. Reason being that all of this site is well, very basic. The blog you’re reading right now is still at a basic level and the web site it’s linked to is also very basic too.

But there is an up side. And that’s this. If you’re getting started for the first time basic is good.

Why? Simply because basic means you only need to acquire some very, dare I say, basic skills using some basic tools.

This blog for example is a WordPress blog. WordPress is pretty much one of, if not the, industry standard blogging software platforms. The other good thing is it’s free! (I’ve actually bought a little secret weapon that I’ve added to this blog, but more about that a little later on).

Just like a web site, all you need is a web site domain name a hosting account and a little time and hey presto, you’ve got you’re first blog up and running.

The other great thing about blogs is they’re traffic magnets! So far for this blog I’ve only been posting for about two weeks and already this site that you’re looking at right now is getting more traffic.

How do I know? Two ways, from the Alexa Ranking for this site and my Google Analytics Account, more about those later too.

As for the main web site www.LozWilson.com, well so far all of this has been hand crafted by me using good old Microsoft FrontPage 2003. (There are other free alternatives out there on Google).

So far I’ve concentrated on the content not on the look and feel. And it probably shows.

I’m no web designer! All I wanted to do was get something out there to get started I can then change easily when I want to, but without having to go through my web designer for every little change.
